Explore Petroupoli, Athens
Due to its status as a suburb, the sense of a tight-knit community is more present, bringing everyone together through local markets, parks, and cultural events. Regardless, it is close enough to Athens to use all the amenities and conveniences exclusive to the city.
Considering the fact that Petroupoli is slightly further from Athens than most other suburbs, it lacks some key infrastructure, such as a Metro line. However, the municipality’s government is committed to improving, having revealed plans to build a Metro station on a new line that will connect Petroupoli to Ethniki Odos, spanning a route over 20 miles long, and 29 stations. The town also has other plans that showcase the intent to better the life of the local residents, with multiple strategies to build new schools, and new cycling lanes as well as restore existing current infrastructure.
Regardless of shortcomings, Petroupoli is an extremely attractive place to live, which fosters a great sense of community, and allows anyone to truly enjoy the Greek lifestyle, all the while remaining close to the capital, Athens.
